What does a Move cost?

Fankhauser Moving & Transport is a 3rd generation family business. So, you are dealing with a well-coordinated team. The company was founded in 1975 and has since then been deeply rooted in the Horgen district around Thalwil, Rüschlikon, Kilchberg, etc. Additional facts about our company:

In which region do you perform moves and transports?
Our service area is located on the Greater Zurich Area. If you are moving to or from this area, we are happy to handle your move. Of course, we also perform moves throughout Switzerland. Just give us a call!
When should I start planning my move?

Do you also perform internal moves?
Yes, you can also rent a moving team without a vehicle.
Can i also store my furniture?
If you apartment is not ready jet, we can store your household items. You can also store your furniture in our furniture storage facility for a medium- or long-term stay during an overseas assignment.
Can you help me with packing and unpacking?
Certainly, we can pack parts or the entire household as you wish.
When will the packing materials be delivered?
You can order packing material at any time and arrange for delivery. We got everything in stock. Make sure you order enough. We will take back any unused packing material on the day of the move. You will only be charged for what you use.
Do I have to buy the packaging material?
You can rent boxes and you can buy boxes as well.
Can you transport a waterbed?
because of our various vehicles and equipment, we can handle this for you. (waterbed must be emptied due to the manufacturer)
Do you also offer additional services such as dismantling, assembly, or disposal?
Yes, we cover everything related to your move, including dismantling, assembly, disposal. We can also offer cleaning services due to our longtime partners.
USM furniture - Disassembly, relocation, and assembly
Our specialists will disassemble, relocate, or modify your USM furniture as needed.
What if it rains on the day of the move?
We do not postpone moves due to rain. All furniture and household items are protected from moisture with blankets and covers so that everything arrives dry.
is the journey there and the return journey charged?
Yes, we charge for the time from our domicile and back.
How is lunch provided?
During loading, a 20-minute break is taken for a snack, which counts as working time. Any other breaks won`t be charged.
What do the movers like to have for a snack or break?
Our movers appreciate hearty sandwiches with meat or cheese and sodas for drink. It’s even better if the coffee machine is still in operation.-:)
What do the movers drink?
Sodas are usually the drink of choice.
Do you arrange parking restrictions?
You can leave the public parking restrictions to us. We handle it with the responsible authority. The fees will be charged with the moving bill.
Do you have a furniture lift
Yes, we use a furniture lift for bulky items or narrow staircases. The reach is 27 meters, and loads up to 400 kg can be transported.
Do you also move pianos?
Within a move, we do also move pianos.
Do you also rent moving materials?
In our moving shop, you can rent woolen blankets, tying belts, sack trolleys, and furniture trolleys.
Do you also rent vehicles?
No unfortunately not.
Is my property insured during transport?
Yes, of course. For special solutions, just give us a call!
Is building damage covered by insurance?
Yes, damage to third parties is covered by our liability insurance.
Do you also perform cleaning services?
Due to our longtime cleaning partners Schmid Reinigungen 044/686-14-14, es.reinigungen@bluewin.ch and HGR-Service GmbH 044/555-82-43, info@hgrservice.ch, we can also offer you this service.
is overloading vehicles a problem?
No, our fleet includes vehicles in all weight classes. With our trucks, we can also move large volumes with the corresponding weight.
